Some Healing Beyond Borders Committees consist of members appointed by the Board of Directors.  They include Ethics, Nominating, Conference, Education committees and others.  All positions are volunteer.

Healing Beyond Borders Committees

Conference Committee: The Conference Committee determines the theme of the conference, makes decisions about speakers and workshops, and assists with the implementation of the conference.

Ethics Committee: The Ethics Committee reviews complaints filed about any level of student, Practitioner or Instructor and follows a standard procedure for reviewing and then ruling upon those complaints.  Members are appointed, and have expertise in biomedical ethics.

Instructor Training Advancement Committee: The Instructor Training Advancement Committee is made up of seasoned HBB Instructors who have had many years of experience teaching, and have also had experience with Instructor training. The Committee oversees the training of new instructors by following the mentorship of newly trained instructors, and making sure that communication between the trainees and instructor mentors is open and supportive. The committee also makes sure that the training evaluation tools are high quality and up-to-date, as well as “user friendly”.

Once the instructor trainees have completed their requirements, and the mentor has received acceptable reports from the supervising instructors, as well as reports from the trainee regarding their learning experience, the mentors report this completion to the head of the Instructor Training Committee. It is then communicated to the rest of the committee for consensus, and then to the HBB office that the instructor is complete with training.

Instructor Training Application Committee: The Instructor Training Application Committee is comprised of those educators holding an advanced degree whose purpose is to review applications for instructor training to ensure applicants have met prerequisite criteria for instructor training and ensure the applicants have the necessary skills and background preparation to be successful as a Healing Touch instructor. This committee is also responsible to determine qualifying coursework that can meet requirements for equivalency in anatomy and physiology, psychology and ethics for those applicants who do not hold a professional health care background and degree.

International Committee: The International Committee (IC) is the contact point and offers support with international topics of Healing Beyond Borders.
