Christa VoornChrista Voorn RN, BScN, CHTP/I
Vice President

Christa is a Canadian and Dutch nurse. She haslived and worked in Canada, USA, Vietnam and the Netherlands. Christa believes these diverse experiences have enriched her life, and navigating the cultural nuances of each country has brought unique opportunities to grow.

Christa has worked in various academic Adult and Pediatric Intensive Care Units and was the Operations Director of International SOS Assistance in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. She is employed in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (High Care) at Erasmus University Medical Center-Sophia Children’s Hospital, Rotterdam, the Netherlands. In the spirit of continuing to explore the world, Christa has moved to London, England, to pursue an MSc degree in (Integrative) Health & Wellbeing at the University of Westminster.

Unknowingly, Christa’s journey with Healing Touch started in the early 1990s when a former clinical instructor from her alma mater invited her to aLevel 1course in Toronto, Canada. This was not possible; however, the seed was planted. In 2015, in quiet contemplation and self-reflection, the question, “And now what?” was spontaneously answered with “Healing Touch.”

In 2018, Christa became a CHTP and registered her practice, Integrative Balance. In 2021, she graduated from the Complementary Care program at the University of Applied Sciences, Nijmegen, the Netherlands. This allowed her to refine her quality project plan, Code Rest, a self-care initiative using Healing Touch for healthcare professionals. Christa became a Course 1 Instructor in 2022, and the following year, she co-founded Healing Touch Benelux.

Christa continues to champion Healing Touch in the Netherlands. She teaches and provides Complementary Care/Integrative Health workshops to various healthcare professionals and chairs a Complementary Care Committee at her workplace. While serving as vice president on the Board of Directors and chair of the International Committee, Christa looks forward to fostering new endeavours and networks as we spread the vision and mission of Healing Beyond Borders.
