Taking the Hand of Tomorrow, Serving Humanity and Planet Earth

In her 2020 book, To Show Another Way, How to Learn, Heal and Serve at a Time of Crisis on Planet Earth, Susan B. Trout, PhD, Founder of the Institute for the Advancement of Service and former conference keynote, writes, “we take the hand of tomorrow to show another way to be in the world, when we unite heart and mind, harvest the good from where we have been, call upon the wisdom of the Universe, go beyond a focus on self-transformation, transform our organizations, deepen our collective understanding of what wants to emerge in the world, and dedicate our life to serving humanity and Planet Earth.”

Wise teachers tell us “Pain is inevitable, suffering is optional.” Our world is suffering. Diverse spiritual traditions call upon each of us to embody love, compassion, and necessary right action. What do we each need to do individually so that there is a collective vibration to imagine and support Planetary Healing? How do we each fine tune ourselves to discover and enhance these qualities and extend them to those whom we serve (self, community, planet and all its inhabitants)?

We invite you to submit your proposal(s) for conference presentations as a workshop presenter and share your expertise to strengthen, support, and inspire the healing arts community.

Healing: A Core Foundation of Healing Touch

Note: The root/origin of the word “heal” is derived from the Anglo-Saxon word, “haelen” which means to be or to become whole. Nurse theorist and researcher Janet F. Quinn PhD, RN, FAAN defines “healing” as the emergence of right relationship at one or more levels of the body-mind-spirit system. Quinn, J. “Healing: A Model for an Integrative Health Care System,” Advanced Practice Nursing Quarterly 3, no. 1 (1997): 1-7.

This year's conference will once again be entirely virtual, although this year, we will hold concurrent sessions, thus returning to a 4 day format. The schedule will incorporate both synchronous and asynchronous events; in other words, you can participate during times which are convenient for you and still not miss a thing! All content will be recorded for viewing on demand. We also will once again have the means to interact with each other through our WHOVA conference meeting platform. It is user friendly, as easy as turning on a tv or laptop, and features high quality learning and engagement at your fingertips. You can participate through your computer, IPAD, laptop or phone. We hope to see you there!
