HIPAA & Privacy Policy

The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) of 1996, (U.S.A. Public Law 104-191), required Health and Human Services to adopt national standards for electronic health care transactions. Simultaneously, Congress recognized that advances in electronic/computer technology could jeopardize the privacy of health information. As a result, Congress enacted mandates that adopted Federal privacy protections for individually identifiable health information. Health Care Providers must implement standards to protect and guard against the misuse of individual personal information in accordance with specific Federal guidelines. In accord with HIPAA guidelines, the following Notice of Privacy Practices for Healing Touch Clients has been created to serve as a guideline for action and as a required notice to patients/clients as mandated by the Federal privacy act. This document may be copied and used in your practice.  Any questions regarding this Notice may be directed to Lisa Anselme at 303-989-7982 or This email address is being protected from spambots.
