Announcing an Expanded and New Conference Opportunity!

Dear Healing Touch Community,

Just weeks ago, we hosted our 29th annual energy healing conference in Bloomington, Minnesota, with our theme “Standing in Our Power. Healing in Action.” It had been a while since we gathered in person, and it was wonderful to see old friends and meet new friends as well! We are so grateful for every one of you who were with us in Minnesota. When asked by a show of hands, it appeared that over half of those present were attending for their first time. That was incredibly exciting to see!

We heard so much positive feedback about our conference, regarding the overall event, presenters and presentations! View our conference brochure here!

  • 97.2% of attendees identified they would apply new knowledge and skills to their ongoing self-care practice
  • 99.4% of attendees identified they would apply new knowledge and skills to their Healing Touch/holistic healing practice

Many in attendance wished to revisit those presentations again, or if possible, view a presentation that they missed. We have frequently heard, even as recently as this week, from many who wished they had been able to attend in person.

After much deliberation and consideration we have decided to host an additional Conference 2025, which will be provided as a virtual event. We thankfully video recorded a number of our plenaries and select workshops while in Minnesota! This virtual conference will have those recorded sessions and several live events available for viewing starting Monday, November 3 and continuing through Sunday, November 30, after which time it will be completed.

ABOUT OUR THEME

Power:
In Power vs. Force (1985), Hawkins notes, “Force is a finite 'pushing against' that requires external energy that will eventually run out (e.g., fuel or a battery), whereas power is self-generating and self-sustaining as the result of its essence.”

In The Art of Power(2007), Thich Nhat Hahn writes, “Vast inequality between people and groups makes power unstable. But when power is seen as legitimate and comes with spiritual authority and is a manifestation of love, wisdom, and freedom from afflictions, it can establish justice, order, and withstand challenges peacefully, without resorting to violence or oppression. It is appreciated and even revered.”

In Healing Touch, power is rooted in healer preparation, through being grounded, centered and committing to the attributes of the heart as identified by Brugh Joy: Compassion, Unconditional Love, Healing Presence, Innate Harmony, and Selfless Service.

Healing:
The root/origin of the word “heal” is derived from the Anglo-Saxon word “haelen” which means to be, or become whole. Nurse theorist and researcher Janet F. Quinn PhD, RN, FAAN defines “healing” as the emergence of right relationship at one or more levels of the body-mind-spirit system. (1977, Quinn, J.) “Healing: A Model for an Integrative Health Care System,” Advanced Practice Nursing Quarterly 3, no. 1 (1997): 1-7.

Healing begins with the self and is a prerequisite for offering service to others. Healing in Action implies a process toward wholeness. What actions will engage to support wholeness for yourself, patients, community and planet?
