Energy healing has had a profound, positive impact in my life, and I am passionate about sharing the benefits with others.

As a Certified Healing Touch Practitioner, my goal is to to facilitate your self-healing process through this gentle, subtle, yet profound energy therapy.

I’m constantly delighted by the shifts that can take place during or after an energy healing session. I love it when a client tells me “I slept through the night,” or “My headache is gone!” or, “I’ve had an insight into my situation, I can deal with this.” That’s why I do this work.

I offer a safe and nurturing atmosphere in which to help you get grounded, find balance, and feel renewed. My practice is based in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.

Melissa has personally been a life long student of alternative healing modalities, studying the work of and attending lectures given by leaders in the field such as Louise Hay, Caroline Myss, Wayne Dyer, Deepak Chopra, Andrew Weil and Jack Kornfield.  

​Looking to broaden her knowledge and be of service to others, Melissa furthered her education by completing the five rigorous levels of Healing Touch classes endorsed by the American Holistic Nurses Association.  After completing these classes, as well as a two year apprenticeship, Melissa earned her Healing Touch certification in May 2018. 

Melissa is a Certified Healing Touch Practitioner (CHTP) and a member of Healing Beyond Borders.

First, what matters and how I can help - I believe in the your ability to heal and to create a life you love. I believe in the power of connection, touch, being real, stories, and creativity because these help us deal with whatever life might throw our way. I am a member of the Creative Process, Not Product, Fan Club and will sponsor your membership when you're ready to join, too. I understand childhood, or developmental, trauma, transition, the impact of sudden illness, and chronic illness from the inside out. I understand caregiving, and the effects of brain injury in loved ones. I promise to use all of my knowledge, expertise, and life experience during our time together.

Now my credentials...I am a Certified Healing Touch Practitioner in the Kansas City, MO area and have been ceritifed since March 2001. I have a master's degree in non-clinical health psychology and employ a foundational holistic, integrated approach to health and well-being. I am a certified Trauma and Resilience Coach through the Arizona Trauma Institute. I am a certified Kaizen Muse Creativity Coach (CKMCC) which underlies my gentle approach to healing and creative processes. I am a Certified Zentangle Teacher (CZT) and teach tangling as a meditative, calming, fun process. 

I am married, have two adult children and two grandchildren, am a certified foster fail for rescued dogs and cats, and nurture a 118-year old historic house nestled in a small town with a Civil War battleground up around the corner.

I am a retired teacher of 26 years. While owning my own pet sitting business I became a Reiki Master in hopes of using this on animals. Still wanting more I started Healing Touch in 2009 and in March 2017 became a Cetified Healing Touch Practitioner. I love working with people!

For 25 years, Chris has worked in a children's hospital in the pediatric intensive care unit as a certified child life specialist/coordinator helping children and teens cope with trauma, acute/chronic illness and hospitalization. She incorporated relaxation methods/healing touch with many teens and their families in the pediatric hematology/oncology unit as well, assisting them in coping with all aspects of hospitalization.  She is a certified healing touch practitioner, and created her own practice, A Touch of Healing...For Your Mind, Body & Soul, specializing in working with older children, teens and adults (out of her office or in the home).  Chris also studies Native American Healing and is an Everyday Shamanic Practitioner.  

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with 20 plus years of experience.  As a counselor, I believe we cannot separate emotional/mental health from the physical and the spiritual. Consequently, I pursued certification as a Healing Touch Practitioner, completing the certification in September 2015.
