I am an intuitive, compassionate, skilled, trauma-informed, caring, holistic nurse practitioner-healer-coach. I believe that each person has his/her/their own best wisdom, answers, and personal healing strengths, but may be challenged at times in accessing and/or trusting these personal attributes. I also embrace the tenets of Attitudinal Healing, (such as: "the essence of our being is love" and "inner peace is letting go of fear"); and  Mindfulness Compassion for self and others. I believe in the importance of a caring human connection, and in holding a safe and sacred  space for personal exploration and inner healing. I am proudly a certified advanced holistic nurse who embraces an integrative transpersonal trauma-informed nurse-healer-coaching practice. I love integrating a variety of healing tools/practices, such as Healing Touch, Reiki, Interactive Guided Imagery, Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), Positive Neuroplasticity, HeartMath, integrative somatic trauma therapy approches; and Family Systems Constellation Facilitation, etc, to help promote inner healing and well-being. In addition, it has been through my most difficult personal life challenges and life-threatening physical experiences, that I have gained my greatest insights and most profound personal and spiritual growth, which has benefited me by amplifying my empathic, resonant, and transpersonal connection with others. I now have a therapy office in Arcata, CA where I can do hands on HT, as well as remote or distant HT. I have included a photo.

Susan is a RN and Certified Healing Touch Practitioner/Instructor. She teaches Healing Touch at Northwestern Health Sciences University in Bloomington, MN and in several states.

She has a Healing Touch and Spiritual Direction practice specializing in self-care, mental, physical, social, emotional, and spiritual well-being, pre/post op surgery, acute and chronic disease including pain management.

She is a mentor for Healing Touch students and co-leads a Healing Touch team for a local congregation. Her 35 year nursing career includes medical-surgical patient care and education, clinic triage, and case management.

As a registered nuse since 1977 and a Certified Healing Touch Practitioner i have had the honor to serve many individuals with health problems and general dis-ease. I have recently left my full time nursing career to do Healing Touch full time in Westerm Massachusetts.

I have a master's degree in non-clinical health psychology and employ a foundational holistic, integrated approach to health and well-being. I am a certified Kaizen Muse Creativity Coach (CKMCC) which underlies my gentle approach to healing and creative processes. I am a Certified Zentangle Teacher (CZT) and teach tangling as a meditative, calming, fun process. I am certified for trauma informed care for trauma and addiction (CCTS-A).

I am married, have two adult children and two grandchildren, am a certified foster fail for rescued dogs and cats, and nurture a 111-year old historic house nestled in a small town with a Civil War battleground up around the corner.

I originally found this modality of HEALING TOUCH as a patient at Scripps Green in La Jolla, CA in 2001. Where my nurse on duty asked if I would like to try a relaxation technique. My pain levels were extreme. She performed HT prior to surgery as well as post-op. I was able to receive this phenomenal treatment, changing my life for my highest good.

I sought out the treatment and found a local church support group in my area; run by Val Jean Zieber, CHTP/Spiritual Ministry. I continued to receive monthly treatments. As I progressed in healing; I started learning more. Finding education from Scripps through our Healing Touch International/Healing Beyond Borders Organization. Which has taught me self-care techniques that I continue to share.

My journey with Healing Touch continued; in 2012 as a regular recipient of this modality of healing. I started my first course work in the summer of 2012. I was excited to learn more of this incredible therapy and what it had to offer. I became a member of Healing Touch International/Healing Beyond Borders in 2014. By 2016, I was certified as a Healing Touch Practitioner - CHTP.

My role as a prior student and Certified Healing Touch Practitioner continues to include being a coordinator/helper for Foundations of Healing Touch (Course 1) and Energetic Patterning and Clinical Application (Course 2) in the San Diego California area. 

I have also become an EarSeed Certified Practitioner. Working with the Ears in Auricular Therapy. 

In addition, I continue to be of service as a volunteer; through Sharp Hospital Chula Vista and Sharp Grossmont Hospice. I also see patients and family on an individual basis.

I continue to enjoy serving as a co-Mentor for the continuance of our future mentees working toward certification. 

After experiencing her first Healing Touch session, Cathy was hooked. Wanting to spread the beauty of Healing Touch, she became Certified as a Healing Touch Practitioner and then Instructor. Cathy retired from a career in Accounting and opened her Healing Touch practice - Peace Within Healing Touch, L3C. She is a Reiki Master/Instructor and has studied Sacred Geometry. In addition to teaching Foundations of Healing Touch: Course 1, Cathy mentors Certification students and offers practice sessions for new students. She continues to work privately with clients - both in person and remotely, and volunteers as often as she can, providing complimentary sessions to those in need.
